Chester B. Chillin'

Chester B. Chillin' is the most laid-back piece of equipment in the whole plant, and honestly, that's his job.

While everybody else is running hot, Chester is just out there chillin'. Warm water from all over the unit comes to him, trickles down through his fill, and meets a steady breeze pulled up by his big fans. A little bit evaporates, the rest cools right down, and Chester sends it back out to do it all over again. "No stress, man. Just a little evaporation. Happens every day."

Chester is chill, but he isn't careless. He keeps his drift eliminators in place so he doesn't mist the neighbors, watches his cycles of concentration, and stays on top of his makeup water and blowdown. He's serious about water treatment too, because nobody wants scale, corrosion, or anything growing in his basin.

His one weakness? Humid summer days. When the wet bulb creeps up, Chester has to work a lot harder to keep his cool, and he'll be the first to tell you about it.

And don't let the easygoing attitude fool you. When Chester goes down, a lot of things upstream start heating up fast. Loss of cooling water shows up in plenty of HAZOPs for a reason, and Chester knows the whole unit is counting on him to keep chillin'.
